Privacy
Effective: 23 May 2026
Caissly is an editorial chess publication. It does not run user accounts, it does not run advertising, it does not embed third-party trackers, and it does not profile its readers. The list below is the entire data practice of the site.
What we collect
- Server logs. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, retains standard request logs for each page view (IP address, timestamp, user agent, URL). These logs are used to operate the site, monitor uptime, and defend against abuse. We do not link them to any personal identity and we do not export them.
- Privacy-friendly analytics. We count page views with
GoatCounter,
running on our own server at
stats.itsnexis.com. It sets no cookies, assigns no persistent identifier, and cannot follow you to any other site. What it records is the page you looked at, the referrer, and a coarse browser and country reading — no more. It is the only analytics on the site.
What we do not collect
- We do not set tracking cookies.
- We do not run advertising or ad-related code.
- We do not embed Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, TikTok, or similar.
- We do not run a contact form, a mailing list, or a comment system, so there is nothing here that collects your name or email unless you write to us yourself.
- We do not sell or share data with third parties.
- We do not have user accounts, sign-in, or subscriptions on v1.
Third-party links
Articles may link out to external sites — Lichess game records, FIDE, official tournament pages, ChessBase, The Week in Chess, and so on. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.
Email you send us
Writing to one of the addresses on our contact page is the only way this site comes to hold anything you typed: there is no form, no sign-up and no comment box. If you would rather a message did not stay on file, say so and it will be deleted.
Contact
Questions about this notice, data requests, and takedown notices — [email protected]. Everything else is on the contact page.
Changes
If our practices change, we will revise this page and update the effective date above. There is no separate mailing list to notify because we do not have one.
